Mid-States Propane Expo is CANCELLED

COVID concerns cancel Mid-States Propane Expo

Out of an abundance of caution, the organizers of the Mid-States Propane Expo have decided to cancel the event that was supposed to start on Monday in Branson.

The leadership decided that, given the rising rate of COVID and Delta variant infections in the Branson area, the safest course of action was to cancel the event. As the primary role of state propane associations is to promote safety, there was widespread agreement that this was the correct call on behalf of the health of our members, suppliers, family and staff.

Room reservations are NOT automatically cancelled. If you’ve made a reservation, you should cancel at least 48 hours prior to your arrival. We know some attendees had planned to make the event a family vacation, and you can still use your reservation at the convention rate even though the Expo will not happen.

Attendees, exhibitors and speakers are all being called today to make sure they get the word. We’re also asking for your help in dealing with cancellation charges connected with the event.

Several exhibitors and attendees have already offered to waive refunds and apply those payments toward the hefty fees associated with cancelling the show on short notice. Without a government health declaration, force majure does not apply in our case and the cancellation penalties are stiff. The leadership believed, however, that we cannot put a price on the safety of our members and will deal with the cost.

If you do decide to use your hotel reservation and visit Branson next week, please keep in mind the venues that permitted us to cancel our commitments without penalty: Andy B’s, Branson Hills Golf Club, Ozark Shooters, Grand Country Comedy Jamboree, Americana Theater. We’re grateful for their understanding and generosity.

We’re sorry for the late notice. The 2021 Mid-States Propane Expo was shaping up to be a fantastic event. We’ll work through refunds and planning for 2022 in the days ahead, and are grateful for your patience and understanding.

Thank you—
