Once you have made the smart decision to use propane, you may also qualify for generous rebates from the LP Gas Research, Marketing and Safety Commission. The LP Gas Commission was created in 1994 with the assistance of the Oklahoma Propane Gas Association to promote clean, economical, environmentally friendly, American-made propane gas. This former state agency was privatized in 2015, and now operates as a private, nonprofit association. However, it’s termination (as a state agency) and re-creation (as a nonprofit association) did not affect its programs. The LP Gas Commission has operated the nation’s first (and most successful) Regulator Rebate Program since 1995. This program offers a rebate to replace faulty and/or out of date regulators. To date, Oklahoma’s LP Gas Commission has provided propane consumers in this state nearly 50,000 regulator rebates valued at more than $2,000,000. This rebate program has now operated continuously, without interruption for more than 25 years.
